Cabernet at its finest, the DR3 the 3rd x St Hugo South Australian Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 showcases the distinctive characteristics of the wonderful 2021 vintage. Aromas of raspberry mingle with hints of bay leaf, while elegant fine tannins dance with bright red fruits and hints of oak to deliver a seamless performance on the palate.
The DR3 the 3rd x St Hugo South Australian Shiraz 2021 is impeccable and unapologetic - the product of individually created parcels sourced from a range of South Australian regions, matured in oak for 14 months, then blended. Dark and brooding with masses of berry, pomegranate, and raspberry fruit; it will draw you in with its mysterious charm and then engulf your tastebuds with an elegant, expressive embrace.
This is the best one yet. The near perfect South Australian vintage of 2021 has given Daniel Ricciardo and Peter Munro the opportunity to create a wine to release this year that is perfect for the cellar. The result of three years of collaboration, alongside exceptional conditions for the vintage. DR3 the 3rd will also be marked by a new-look label.
Each of the limited-edition DR3 the 3rd x St Hugo bottles will come with a newly designed label and gift box, inspired by the sparks that fly off the Formula 1 cars racing around the track. The 750ml bottles as well as the large formats will be available to purchase from 27 March 2023, exclusively via www.vntnr.co/DR3.

Daniel Ricciardo is an Italian-Australia racing driver from Margaret River in Perth, he is currently competing in Formula One, in car number 3 of the Maclaren F1 Team. St Hugo is one Australia’s most sought after and premium wine labels, based in the Barossa Valley, South Australia.
3 is also Daniel’s lucky number. It was the number of his first go-kart. It was the street number of his family home. Daniel’s favourite NESCAR Driver, Dale Earnhardt drove number three. He even has the number 3 tattooed on his finger.
Yes. The partnership between Daniel Ricciardo and St Hugo is long-term and we will release a limited number of wines each year.
The DR3 x St Hugo range will be limited releases, with new wines launched annually. The number of bottles will vary from year to year depending on vintage conditions.

The DR3 x St Hugo 2018 Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon showcases the distinctive regional characteristics of fruit grown on tera rossa soil over limestone. Structural with regional blackcurrant fruit and long fine tannins to ensure a long life ahead of it.

The DR3 x St Hugo collaboration started with Daniel Ricciardo’s passion for wine and his desire to learn more – to get his hands dirty, to understand more about the craft, the history, winemaking techniques, and to ultimately create some really interesting wines.

A special edition hand-blown glass Ricciardo Decanter inspired by Daniel Ricciardo’s podium celebration ritual and modelled on his racing shoe.
The Ricciardo Decanter was designed by Sydney-based studio Vert Design and took 100 meticulous design-hours to complete as the team experimented with detailed surface textures, volumetrics, pouring angles, and ergonomics to be able to create a functional object while remaining an exact replica of Ricciardo’s famed shoe.
Each Ricciardo Decanter is painstakingly hand-blown and moulded at Canberra Glassworks, producing unique individual collectors’ pieces.
A limited quantity of the Ricciardo Decanter will be sold separately, individually numbered and presented in a trophy case inspired luxury display box, including a letter from Daniel Ricciardo and a certificate of authenticity. Ric Red
DR3 x St Hugo remains our extremely limited, annual release of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. Ric Red is juicy, plush red blend - a Secret Sauce, that brings people together all year round.
The first release of Ric Red is from the 2021 vintage. Good Spring rainfall then set the vines up well for what was to become a very mild and dry ripening season. With no significant rain, temperatures below average and only 3 days above 35⁰C in February and March, ideally ripening conditions were observed resulting in an extended ripening window; a wonderful vintage.
Just as a magician never reveals his tricks, we're keeping Daniel's Secret Sauce under wraps. We can tell you it's juicy, plush, and bursting with fruit.
